While training for a competition in St. Petersburg the 14 year old Plushenko hurt his back during practice 4 hours before the competition. He couldn't even walk, was carried on a stretcher to a doctor. He got pain medicine and went out 4 hours later and skated without training.
For this, he has earned my respect. He is truly a determined athlete. |
