Because of Turkish occupation and having a religion centered out of Constantinople (now called Istanbul) Greek churches are generally of Byzantine architecture. Its really interesting to be walking around a small village with classical Greek houses and to see a Byzantine church pop up. What's even more surprising is that in a modernized city such as Athens, you will find these classical structures coexisting among the sky scrapers. Here's a small sampling of churches in Greece. If your are interested in Byzantine architecture, I suggest you look at my pages on the Daphni & Ossios Loukas monastery.
