Toastmasters Speech Contests

Every year, it is tradition in the Toastmasters organization to conduct a variety of speech contests. Competion starts at the individual club level, with winners advancing though Area, Division, District, Region levels, all the way to the "World Championship of Public Speaking" held each August at the Toastmasters International yearly convention.

The contests have three purposes:

To provide an opportunity for proficient speakers and those Toastmasters who are interested in competitive speaking to gain contest experience.

To provide an interesting educational program for the Toastmasters and for the general public. Contests can create a community awareness of the opportunities of the Toastmasters program.

To provide and opportunity to those Toastmasters who are not participating in the contest to learn by observing proficient speakers.

This section of the Area 4 website is designed to assist clubs and contest planners in the fundamentals of contest management.
