I'm attempting to create a sort of "2001 visual dictionary". As with the film, I'm keeping text to a minimum and pictures to the maximum :) The site will be rather graphics intensive, but not in the modem-crunching sense. The site can also be used as a scale modeler's resource.
The finished (well, it never really will be completely finished!) site will include photos, schematics, specifications, design studies, and anything related to 2001 technology.
Things I'm looking for:
Fan-Designed Spacecraft (especially the Ape man landing ship ;))
Schematics, Floor plans, Cutaways, Specifications....

If anyone has any of this, I'll put it up within a few days, and full credit will be given. The goal of this site is to create a technical archive for 2001 enthusiasts. By the time of rerelease (If it ever happens!), I hope to have a fairly large site.
Here's a question for dedicated 2001 fans: Who plays the person overseeing the Moonbus landing at Tycho? He's obviously not listed in the credits....
In a curious move, Warner Brothers finally re-released "2001: A Space Odyssey" in glorious 70 mm. Unfortunately, something got lost in the translation from the original 17,000 mm projection.
I can feel the envy, I've seen 2001 in a glorious 625 mm presentation ;)
