20 000 people-- came to see the artist Manu Chao in his concert in Genoa on the 19th of July, previous day to the G8 summit in Genoa, Italy.

Reputated for being a good musician and a revolutionary figure in the musical scene of Europe, Manu Chao, also member of Mano Negra, always stood against globalisation and also organize concerts in Chiapas in the Zapatistas communities.

If the G8 "desires to send a message they have succeeded: they are afraid and feel weak." said the singer who also participated in a march counting 15 000 protesters in defence of immigrants.

The city hosting the summit, Genoa, became a city that fears protesters. The city or the ruling class? "Vergogna G8!" was heard on its street as protesters prepared to show their disagreement with the procesus of "mondialisation".
