Alberto Mendez Rodriguez- Eligible to play for either the German or Spanish national squads, joined Arsenal in 1997 for an unknown fee. Spotted by a friend of Arsene Wenger, Mendez had previously played for FC Feucht in the German second division. Mendez's opportunities have been seriously limited since he joined arsenal. Debuting in the Coca Cola cup against Birmingham city, Mendez scored his first and only Arsenal goal (So far). His last premiership appearance was the 10th of October destruction against Newcastle. Because of his ill attempts to gain a place in the squad, Mendez went on loan to AEK Athens in the Greek League in Early February and may stay there permanently.
