SEASON OPENER - RESULTS
The first golf tournament of the year at Village Greens was delayed a week. There were 63 golfers orignally signed up but the replay reduced the number to 54 golfers. The winners will be posted on our web page in a few days.
YELLOW BALL TOURNAMENT
Our the next tournament is at Sanctuary Golf Course, 485 Marley Rd, New Lenox, IL on May 4th with the first tee time being at 9:30 AM. Green fees are $44 and include the mandatory cart. Hot dogs and a soda are included.
The sign up for for the CLGK Tournament at Sanctuary Golf Course on May 4th will close this Saturday, Apr 26th. If you are planning to attend and have not yet signed up, please contact Al Dagys via email or phone ASAP.
The golf format is the popular "Designator Yellow Ball." Simply explained, each team/foursome will receive one yellow ball and the team will designate which team member plays the yellow ball on a given hole. Each golfer gets their full handicap for the round and the individual net score for the hole for the player having the yellow ball is the team score. Each team member must play the yellow ball an equal number of holes, so for a four person team that would be a minimum of four holes per golfer with two golfers having the yellow ball for five holes. If the yellow ball is lost there is no team score. It is not unusual to have 12 teams start out with the yellow ball and only 3 or 4 teams complete the round with the yellow ball. Please turn in the yellow ball and two score cards, one for the team score and one for the individual scores for handicap posting.
2008 MATCH PLAY COMPETITION
You can sign up if you wish, participation is optional, for the 2008 match play at this tournament. Both the Men's and Women's Divisions require a $10 entry fee with awards going to 1st and 2nd place winners.
MEMORIAL DAY GOLF OUTING RESERVATIONS
For those who are planning to attend the Memorial Day tournament, don't forget to make your room reservation now. The cut off date is April 24th for the block of rooms we have reserved. After April 24th the block will be released to the public. Please say you are with the Lithuanian Golf Club to obtain the $65 room rate. The motel we stayed at last year has changed its name from Amerhost to the Baymont Inn.
