The point of this poem was to have the first letter in each line go in alphabetical order from A to Z. It was supposed to be an interesting challenge, and then the poem turned out so dark.

"Fallacy's Sacrifice" (#49)
Aimless walking towards destiny,
Based in learned beliefs we think innate,
Crying inside because we can't cry out,
Doomed to have faith in nonexistant Gods.
Every demon you vanquished has spawned,
Fears grabbing at your throat at night,
Gasping for the air you were told to hate.
Happy children thrive in innocence
In a world where innocence is devoured,
Justified cruelly by the devouring of their own.
Killed by hate, we exist as undead,
Loving with black hearts saturated in disease,
Masked by emotionless displays of affection.
Nothing has become an acceptable lifestyle.
Omens of the apocalypse are rationalized,
Priests say the righteous will prevail,
Quixotic youth who shoot bullets into neighbors,
Return to church because they love the Word.
Sensibility has been killed by zealots,
Truth is now equated to what is most ideal.
Underneath the hell on Earth boils hot,
Vanquishing children born in love.
We love that which blinds us from truth.
X-rated scenes from the brutal night,
Yelling to the sky in enigmatic pain,
Zealous even in death.
