Well, I didn't succeed this time, either. In fact, I did worse than on the first attempt. I could be picky at times with the poems I put up (and I did write poems during the 100 days that didn't get put up), and I realized that some days I just wasn't able to write a decent poem. So if I try again, I will really try not to be so picky. Anyway, here's an overview of the inspiration/meanings of each poem.

#001. "Underworld"
I was inspired for this one by reading this blog. Sometimes I like to think I'm the only one that goes through pain, so that's what this is about.
#002. "Face to Face"
I hate Christianity.
#003. "Summer Fling"
This didn't really happen, but I figured this would be how I felt if it did.
#004. "For Some Abstract Concept"
This is okay--it's pretty unfocused.
#005. "Will of the Heart"
The first good poem of the bunch. This also didn't technically happen to me. I told it from the perspective of someone who was actually in a relationship with the love of her life, yet still "felt [her] unrequited love."
#006. "Trendy Clothing Store"
I like the title, and that's about it. Sort of a fantasy type of poem.
#007. "Lethal Combination"
I strongly dislike this one. It's too vague. Distracted. Something. The premise is good though, I think.
#008. "Everything's Fading"
This is one of my favorites of the entire bunch. Written with my best friend Jake in mind, imagining that he was gone. This poem originally had eight more lines at the end, which I cut out. "What did you say? / About anything-- / Say anything. / Everything you said is worthless, / Because there's nothing more / You can say. // I'm addicted to your words. / Say anything."
#009. "Be So Lucky"
That was inspired by Alicia Keys. I get sick of singers and actors, who are obviously so much more well off than anyone else, telling people that they can do anything they put their mind to, anything is possible, etc. And for Alicia Keys especially, who obviously had such a hard time making her dream come true, to say that--it's just ignorant. And incompassionate.
#010. "Seasons"
Every season carries with it its own memories of pain.
#011. "Love Never Dies"
Another favorite of mine. It was inspired by Gaile Jaro of Diary.nu, which I later resented because her life is 1000x better than mine.
#012. "Morning Ritual"
Il est trop difficile de me lever...de vivre.
#013. "Suicide Girl"
Love this one. It has such a nice flow. Dedicated to anybody who ever wanted to commit suicide.
#014. "Starring Me in a Better Life"
Okay, the origins of this poem are long-winded. I took a personality test here, and it said that I had a very high probability of of having Avoidant Personality Disorder, and described the symptoms. One of them was: "Often, they will create fantasy worlds to substitute for the real one." And I didn't think it applied. But then I really thought about it, and realized how incredibly untrue that was. And I wrote my longest poem of the bunch describing all of my fantasy worlds. Personal, but...ehh.
#015. "Artificial"
There's a meme called Five Minute Stories, where you're given a word (in this case, "artificial"), and five minutes to free write. And I just translated what I had written into a poem. Here's the original:
"I've become lost in your words.
My eyes are aching from lack of sleep, but I know these days will never come again. I know that if I can do nothing else, I have to take in all of your words. I know these days will soon end.
So I lay on the bed beside you as you speak. And I listen. Because this will only be a memory. You will only be a memory.
I want to believe that this--you and me--will last forever. But history has taught me that it will never be. I can tell from the passion and youth in your voice that you believe. But I don't. I think soon you won't either. Soon you'll grow up.
Love never ends...you're saying that now...how ironic...
I lose consciousness, and slip into the artificial world of dreams, and you're there waiting for me. Love never ends. You're saying that even now. And this time I can't seem to say you're wrong. It doesn't seem untrue."
#016. "My Sad Existence"
Sad, as in pathetic. Sad, as in depressing. Not my favorite.
#017. "I've Never Told You"
This is such a weird poem. But I had gotten behind in the past couple of days, so oh well.
#018. "Nothing"
I guess that poem actually takes place in the past. It's something I would have written during the first 100 in 100. The only thing I don't like about it is that there's a lot of melodrama in there--like lines 32, 42...There are some good parts, too--I like the ending, I like the way it's structured...in other words, it's a typical poem of mine.
#019. "The First Snow"
I left the apartment. It was worth a poem.
#020. "Can You Love Me Anyway?"
Attack on me and my poetry thus far. Addressed to Jake.
#021. "Rising Up"
LMAO. I actually was inspired by the song "Eye of the Tiger"--that's pretty funny to me. I borrowed some lines from it, too. Addressed to Devin (the guy whom I've been in love with for over three years now and haven't talked to in over one). Though...this isn't really him. I've reduced him to this cruel soul because that makes it easier for me, but it's not who he is.
#022. "The Meaning of Life"
I wrote this poem very quickly, and I don't consider it very well-written, but I wanted it to become words to live by.
#023. "Strong Memories, Weak People"
Self-explanatory.
#024. "It's Just Impossible"
Inspired by U2's The Joshua Tree. Everything about it is U2--I wrote it from a guy's perspective and I even made up a melody to go with it. I really like this. I'm proud of it. Those last two lines are pretty ambiguous--I won't explain what I meant by it, though. If it actually gets read by anyone other than me, I want them to make it their own.
#025. "Roller Coaster Romance"
Jake again. I'm partial to it. I think I worked with the metaphor well. My language bothers me, though. I've always preferred plain language over flowery language, because people use big words and strange metaphors to make up for a lack of substance. Or lack of confidence in their substance. But it just seems too plain to me.
#026. "New Year's Eve"
Kind of sub-par poem. I'd had some serious writing block since the last poem, and so this isn't all that good. I did structure it a bit, but it's more honest, free-writing than anything.
#027. "Cold My Sanctuary"
First poem of the new year. I tried to pay attention to my wording. It was off and on. I think it's better than the last one, though. Fifth stanza's a bit too melodramatic.
#028. "A Short Road to Nowhere"
Written while listening to "18" (the song) by Moby.
#029. "I Hate Myself Today"
It sucks. The last stanza's the only one that's any good. I actually almost didn't put this up.
#030. "Invasion of a Smile"
I do actually like this one. I had semi-good description.
#031. "Hunter Green"
I was inspired by the color of the pen I was writing with at the time. Then, I thought--hunter? Rapist? Oh, the symbolism. (However, I don't consider this very well-written.)
#032. "pathetic genius"
I'm smart, but not smart enough. So I resent both the stupidity and the genius in others.
#033. "lunch at the café"
This poem was inspired by an ad or fashion spread in W magazine--a black and white picture of a girl feeding a guy grapes in front of a fromagerie. This is a pretty different style than most of my other poems: all lowercase, one long sentence, no stanzas...It makes me happy to be a little different.
#034. "The Last to Fall"
Poetry in Motion #1. (The premise is almost like that of Magnetic Poetry. You can use 20 pieces to make a short poem, and there's a possibility of a $100 prize. And I feel I must mention this--the website in general is a scam) There's definitely a thought pattern going on, and I finished that thought pattern. It's hard to do anyway, but when there's just a bunch of words you arrange together, I just tend to put together combinations that sound nice. But despite a bit of a time crunch (I had to finish by 11:59:59--I finished at 11:59:07), I did well.
#035. "ahead on our way"
Inspired by the Final Fantasy VII Piano Collections song "Ahead on Our Way." Written with Jake in mind.
#036. "Heaven Conquered"
Second Poetry in Motion. I like the first three lines, but I don't like how I put together the last two.
#037. "Heaven Conquered II"
I liked the concept of the last poem, so I went a little bit further with it. I like the way I structured this one. I was kind of sneaky about the heaven, hell, and Earth part. I only capitalized Earth, and actually rearranged the lines so that I wouldn't have to start a line with heaven, and thus capitalize it. Because I truly believe Earth is all we have.
#038. "The Storm"
Poetry in Motion #3. I am quite partial to this one. Originally titled "The Violent Storm That Found Me."
#039. "In the Red Fire"
PIM #4...
#040. "The End"
...and #5. I really like both of them.
#041. "i don't know any better"
This one came out of my desire to both be around people I love and be alone all the time. (In reality, I don't know which one I want. I think that, as I am, I could be alone the rest of my life. But if I was ever in a real relationship, I don't think I could go back to the way I used to be.)
#042. "Epic Escape"
The sixth Poetry in Motion. Was actually hoping for a word set in the vein of travelling.
#043. "Help Her"
PIM #7. I love the double use of the word "stop" (though admittedly, it took me a while to realize I did it).
#044. "mary and the window"
This one is sort of based off of the last one. I used the name Mary because of The Weakest Link--there was a really sweet woman on that show named Mary and everyone was mean to her, so I told myself that I would write a poem with that name.
#045. "derek and the window"
It seriously takes me a long time to figure out what I'm doing in my poems. I find these new aspects to them that I don't realize I'm incorporating. Like in the last one, there's a hint of suicide in there--it's so perfect, and I had no idea I was doing it until I copied it down in my journal. So I expanded on it.
#046. "Jagged Thoughts"
PIM #8. I love the description.
#047. "The Aftermath of a Poem"
I'm not a big fan of this poem. But I was so far behind--and there are some good things about it.
#048. "Portrait of Our Lives"
PIM #9. This is probably the highest quality poem of all of them. There's a lot in that little poem. More than one association each with death and painting.
#049. "I Spent My Life"
Tenth Poetry in Motion. Not half as good as that last one. My inspiration was running low.
#050. "captain (a simple melody)"
I was inspired by the title of the Dave Matthews Band song, "Captain". It's simple, thus the subtitle.
#051. "finish the job"
Written while listening to Jewel's "Becoming". I wrote this with Devin in mind. I've unconsciously repeated lines from earlier poems, but it's hard to be original when I have to write so much. Besides, I like it--especially the description, which I'm not usually good at. Plus, clandestine--good word.
#052. "Home in the Shadows"
Wow, two lines. Short even for PIM. Eleventh one, by the way. I don't like it that much.
#053. "Blue Flower Printed Porcelain Bowl"
A crappy poem that I forced myself to write because I had been slacking off.
#054. "End Roll: Episode II"
I finally got over my writer's block and wrote a poem. I was trying to get inspired by Ayumi's music, and ended up being inspired by (obviously) "End Roll". It's heavily based off of the translations, plus I borrowed a line from Maroon 5's "This Love".
#055. "Water Baby"
This is a strange poem and it has strange origins. On Ragnarok Online, there was this guild called Elementals, and I thought that if I was in that guild, my nickname would be Water Baby. Because I've always felt that I was akin to water (for whatever reason). And it made me want to write a poem about a water baby. I wrote it with my littlest sister Shannon in mind. It actually makes me really miss her.
#056. "Remembering You Alone"
I finally wrote a poem that I really liked after days of writer's block. Inspired by lyrics in Joni Mitchell's Blue, and by Devin, whom I don't think I'm ever going to get over.
#057. "To Fall"
A little poem inspired by a line (the last two and a half in the poem) from Sarah McLachlan's song, "Fear".

And now, the top ten, in chronological order:
#005. "Will of the Heart"
#008. "Everything's Fading"
#011. "Love Never Dies"
#013. "Suicide Girl"
#024. "It's Just Impossible"
#025. "Roller Coaster Romance"
#030. "Invasion of a Smile"
#048. "Portrait of Our Lives"
#051. "finish the job"
#056. "Remembering You Alone"
