I'm much too old
To act this young
But it wasn't my choice
To get this old

There are things
That are as true today
As they were eight years ago --
Things that should have
Never been true

Maybe it's youthful defiance
Or the resignment of age
But I've lived this way so long
That I can't go back
And I refuse to try

If I thought
I could change it
I wouldn't have
Chosen death.

I'm much too young
To act this old
Feeling that I've lived
Entirely too much life
