#028. If You're Out There
Even if you're out there,
I don't know if it matters anymore.
When I was young,
And when my days were darkest,
I dreamed of sweet, handsome men
Who would take me away.
But the longer I'm alone
The more I get used to it,
And the closer I get to a place
That I can't come back from.
Being alone forever just doesn't
Sound as bad as it used to.
I don't hate my life
The way I used to --
Not enough to risk
Breaking my heart again.
So even if you're out there,
I don't know if it matters anymore.
