August Moon Farm Welcome to August Moon Farm. We have been breeding fine Oldenburg and Hanoverian sporthorses since 1980. We also offer Custom Hauling of warmbloods, including breeding stock, as well as dressage, english, and western show horses.
We are a small, family owned farm located in the Illinois River Valley of southern Oregon. Our horses are raised out on large pastures year 'round in all kinds of weather. We believe pasture raising at our altitude, weather and soil type make for healthy, sound, well-adjusted young horses. Our Horses We have been breeding and raising Hanoverians and Oldenburgs primarily for the sports of show jumping and dressage since 1980.
We stand the imported stallion, Fatalist (Farn/Heidelberg), licensed by both the German Bavarian and Oldenburg Verbands. Farn is also the sire of Nimmerdor and Wolfgang, two big names in Dutch breeding. Our broodmare band consists of imported Oldenburg, Hanoverian and Holsteiner mares selected not only for their pedigrees but also for use in the sport. These are modern riding horse types. We looked for consistency in the pedigrees, and for bloodlines that have produced performance. Our goal is to breed medium-bodied riding horses, standing between 16 and 16-3 hands. Athletic horses with good minds. Horses that are pretty to look at and the kind riders enjoy. Horses that are relatively uncomplicated and who train easily. So if you are looking for a new equine partner for use as a hunter or as a jumper, for a young dressage prospect, or for a quality broodmare consider viewing the horses at August Moon Farm. You will find pedigrees containing sires such as Ladykiller, Matcho, Furioso II, Inschallah, Gotthard, Grande, and Cor de la Bryere, to name just a few. Lines that are succeeding in the sport and are consistent in the breeding shed. We always have a fine selection of broodmare and show horse prospects at affordable prices, and would love to have you come visit. We only breed a few foals each year and it is important to us that they find the right owners. After all, when you spend as much time as we do breeding and raising these young horses, they are just like family. And we want them placed where they will have every opportunity at success. |
Import Sales Not only do we raise warmbloods for the sports of dressage and show jumping, we also import for sale and we arrange trips to Germany for clients who wish to go over and look for the perfect horse.
We have contacts throughout the Hanoverian, Oldenburg and Holsteiner breeding regions. So whether you are looking for a young prospect, an older horse already successful in competition, a Stats Premium broodmare, or a quality breeding stallion, we have the connections to make your horse shopping efficient and satisfactory. And we can take you to excellent dressage and jumping stables with young and made horses for sale at reasonable prices.
