Visions Before The Crucifix

Eyes filled with moribund agony, He watches the throngs of people before Him. Heavy is his heart for those who denied Him, rejected His love and the truth. The sky grows darker; the air reeks with pain. He shudders. They do not know what they have done. They will not understand all that they have renounced. There is nothing more He can do on this earth; but die. Oh God, the pain is too much, too great! It is not just his flesh that cries out., but His heart is breaking, paralyzed from His lost efforts. Has He been abandoned? "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" The air is still as if the breath of life had been sucked from it. He mediates His suffering.

Yet, He loves them.

There is no room for hatred in His heart. His agony is blessed with LOVE. His eyes look upon the masses below; the impression lasts for an eternity.

He understands.

Slowly, His eyes close.

He cries out.
"Thy will be done."

The wind whips the earth, howling out the name of the Lord, the Lamb of God. Wildly the earth laments, a frenzied agony for the tree felled to make His cross.

And in bewilderment, the sheep shudder beneath Him.

The Miracle of Easter

All Nature cried that dark, drear day
When Christ hung upon the cross,
While darkness filled the heavens above
Earth trembled at the loss.

The sad disciples' hearts were wrung
With grief for all to see,
They saw no hope, for lo, their Lord
Had died on Calvary.

But hope and life came with the dawn
Of glorious Easter Day.
The "Lord is risen," were the words
The lilies seemed to say.

All Nature thrilled and cried in tune
"All victory is won.
Our Lord has risen from the dead
New life has now begun."

--Clarice Williams

He is Risen!

Whispered Promise

On Easter Day the lilies bloom,
Triumphant, risen from their tomb;
Their bulbs have undergone rebirth,
Born from the silence of the earth...
Symbolically...to tell all men
That Christ, the Savior, lives again.
The angels, pure and white as they,
Have come and rolled the stone away
And with the lifting of the stone
The shadow of the cross is gone!

"In me ye might have peace.
In the world ye have tribulation; but be of good cheer,
I have overcome the world."
John 16: 33

"Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled"

Whenever I am troubled
and lost in deep despair,
I bundle all my troubles up
and go to God in prayer.....

I tell Him I am heartsick
and lost and lonely, too,
That my mind is deeply burdened
and I don't know what to do.....

But I know He stilled the tempest
and calmed the angry sea
And I humbly, as if in His love
He'll do the same for me.....

And then I just keep quiet
and think only thoughts of Peace,
And if I abide in stillness
my "restless murmurings" cease....
