History:: 1990 was the first season for ECHL action in Richmond. Hockey took off in the capital city as the Renegades quickly established fierce rivalries with teams in Hampton Roads and Roanoke. Richmond has prospered on the ice too. The Renegades have won both a regular season and league title, with only one losing season in their history.
