If you arrive in our city with a slave we recognize your right to the slave, and you may collar her after you both become Citizens. Becoming a Citizen requires that you attend a "NUO," one of the regularly scheduled new user orientations. You should smail the first girl or a council member so that your ownership can be properly recorded in the city records. Your slave is expected to follow the rules here, and you are ultimately responsible for seeing that he or she knows and obeys them.
In order to collar your slave type .collar <name of slave> The program will then ask the slave if he or she wishes to accept. Be sure this is what both of you want because it is not easily removed. (see .help collar) Or you may meet and get the consent of an un-owned citizen slave to accept your collar. Then you would inform city authorities in person or by .smail that you have acquired the consent of the slave and wish to collar him or her. You may arrange with the slave and perhaps with other citizens to dramatize the transaction. It can be as simple or elaborate as you wish. It can also be as public or private a matter as you desire. It may even involve a role-played capture or a bartered sale in which you publicly negotiate the purchase followed by a collaring ceremony. Or it may be a private ritual between the two of you.
No Free person may offer "protection" or any official "training" here. Slaves learn in the slave gathering or in the tavern, and by reading. All citizens may assist in the growing process, but we ask that this be done in a casual way rather than as any official status as a trainer or protector. However, Free persons who have achieved a ds setting of "CG-Master" or "CG-Mistress" (see .show free_levels) may offer a leather "training collar" to any slave who is black silk or above. Any black silk slave considering a training collar must first speak with the first girl before accepting the collar in order to demonstrate her understanding of the situation. Training collars may NEVER be offered to or accepted by garden helpers. Training collars are simple, temporary, leather collars which are indicated in the slave's profile or description, not with the "collar" command. These collars are meant for the serious training of slaves in Gorean knowledge, not to encourage low commitment relationships. CG-Masters and CG-Mistresses may use a training collars on only one slave at a time. Either party may withdraw from the training situation at any time by notifying the other person.
