The Table below lists the Progression of the Catcher Games Caught Record starting from 1876 to the present. The gaps in years indicates that the previous leader holds the record (career or lifetime cumulative GC's) until broken. For those active players who broke a previous record, including their own, the new record has been shown. The list has been segmented by the seven acknowledged eras of baseball although the cumulative career/lifetime records carried over from era to era in some cases.
