Plummer stuck with the Reds in 1972 after hitting 17 HR at Indianapolis (American
Association), and remained in Cincinnati through 1977 backing up Johnny Bench. Plummer
hit above .200 in only three seasons.
MANAGERIAL NOTES:
October 10th, 1991: Manager Jim Lefebvre is fired by the Mariners and replaced by 3B coach Bill Plummer.
March 16th, 1992: Seattle manager Bill Plummer mistakenly fills out a lineup card with 2 first baseman and no DH. It doesn't
help as the Mariners go on to lose the game to the White Sox, 5-4.
October 13th, 1992: The Mariners fire manager Bill Plummer
