| オフィシャルサイトからのニュース ダレンは今までアンダーグラウンドのパロディーショー（ストリップショー？）で、口ひげをつけて保安官の格好をしながら司会者として働いていた。また、いくつかのアマチュアフライ級ボクシングの試合に参加したが、結局ひどく負けたそうだ。 彼は現在、"Breaking Wind." と呼ばれる音楽業界の脚本に取り組んでいる。 |

| ■Benレコーディング終了 BenのマネージャーのAllan Wolmark氏によると、Benはソロアルバムのレコーディングを完了しており（プロデューサーのBen Grosseと共にオーストラリア、アデレードのKrellスタジオで録音）、リリースは来春後半になる模様。 ■Darrenソロライブ Darrenが12/30の午後10時よりニュージャージーのMaxwell'sでソロライブを行う。いっしょに出演するスペシャルゲストが気になる。。 ■100 Girls Benがソロ新曲"Wandering"を提供した映画、「100 Girls」のサントラはアメリカでは2001年4月にリリース予定。 |

| BFFのPRグループ「Girlie Action」がBFF解散に関する公式声明文を発表。「BFFオフィシャルサイト」「Frank Maynard's BFF Website」にも同じく掲載された。 （全文） Ben Folds Five Announces Split: New Projects Forthcoming After six great years as a band, touring and making records, Ben Folds Five is calling it quits. Alan Wolmark, the band's manager, says that the split is amicable and that the decision was made because all three members felt the band had run its musical course and wanted to pursue other musical interests. As Ben Folds confirms "The band is splitting on good terms. We are very proud of our three albums, our little hit and our audience. Now it is time to bow out with dignity rather than to make that final 'cash-in' record and tour which, of course, is very tempting." Ben Folds has written, recorded and produced the song, "Lonely Christmas Eve," for the film "How The Grinch Stole Christmas," opening later this month and for the soundtrack CD out next week. In addition, "Wandering", another new song written, recorded and produced by Ben Folds, will be in the forthcoming independent film "100 Girls." Folds, who lives in Australia with his wife and twins, is currently in the studio recording a new album with producer Ben Grosse for release on Epic Records in the spring. Darren Jessee is assembling a band and has been playing his own new material on the New York club circuit for the past year. Robert Sledge is currently putting together a new group and producing bands in his Chapel Hill, North Carolina studio. Sledge has also been touring with ex-Squirrel Nut Zippers Tom Maxwell and his band The Minor Drag. Ben Folds Five and their crew would like to thank all their loyal fans who have made them feel comfortable and welcome throughout the world where they have been fortunate enough to visit and entertain. |

| BEN FOLDS FIVEが解散。 海外BFFサイト「Frank Maynard's BFF Website」によると BFF解散の原因として、メンバーのソロ活動（Darrenの最近のニューヨークでのソロライブ。RobertはGladhandsのアルバムに参加したり、Tom Maxwell and The Minor Dragのツアーに同行。 またノースキャロライナにスタジオを建てている。Benは先日お伝えしたようにJim Carrey最新主演映画『How The Grinch Stole Christmas』に曲提供）。 と地理的な要因にあるとしている（Benはオーストラリアに家族と住んでいるため、RobertとDarrenはレコーディングのためにオーストラリアにいくのがいや！？）。 また、BenにはまだSony/550 Recordとの契約が残っているため、数ヶ月の内にレコードを出す可能性があり、新作のボーカル/演奏はすべてBen自身によるものである（すでにほぼレコーディング完了）。 今後彼の音楽的兆戦はソロとしてなのか、あるいはRobertとDarren以外のメンバーを入れかえるか、Zippers（"Steven's Last Night In Town" に参加）やJohn Mark Painter（Flaming & Johnの人で『Fear Of Pop』『メスナー』 のオーケストレーションを担当）とのコラボレーションになるとかは未定。 と報じている。近日中にBFF側からの公式声明が発表されると思われる。 |

| 海外BFFサイト「BFF The Strangest Things」からのニュース。 BFFは「documentary on Sun Records」のためにカール･パーキンス（ロックンロール初期に活躍した人）の"Honey Don't"をレコーディングしたと先日お伝えしたが、この企画にはPaul McCartneyやBob Dylan、the Who（復活！？）、Elton John、Jimmy Page、 Robert Plant,、Jeff Beck, Chrissie Hynde、Rod Stewart、Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler, Bryan Ferry, Aerosmith, Live, Third Eye Blind, Chris Isaak 、France's Johnny Hallyday and Italy's Zucchero. Brian Setzer、Kid Rock もかかわっていて、 「Sun Records」誕生50周年記念としてElvis Presley、Jerry Lee Lewis、Roy Orbison、Johnny Cashらの曲をカバーする。 なお、このドキュメンタリー番組は2001年12月にPBS（アメリカのテレビ局！？）で放映される予定。 |

| 「USA Today」からのニュース。 Jim Carry主演映画『ME, MYSELF & IRENE』にSteery Danのカバー"Barry Town"を提供したばかりのBFFだが、またまたJim Carreyの最新作『How the Grinch Stole Christmas』（11/17に全米公開。有名なアニメの実写版！？）にBFFは新曲"Lonely Christmas"を提供することになった。 サントラはアメリカでは11月に発売予定で、他の参加アーティストはSmash Mouth、Barenaked Ladies、The Eels。 |
