Elvis live on stage at the Los Angeles Forum, Inglewood, California -- November 14, 1970 evening concert
This was Elvis' second real tour since his return to live performing, in 1969, and he was really cooking by the time he hit Los Angeles. The two shows he gave on that day have become the stuff of legend and the one I have heard an exceedingly lo-fi tape of hints at just why...contemporary newspaper reports, from even the most jaded critics, and a quick look at some of these action shots fills in a few of the blanks. The suit Elvis wore was visually effective, to say the least, but he had to be cut free at one point when his fringes became tangled in the microphone cord.
