Chapter 4: How God's Daughter Should Dress

The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee. With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.
--Psalm 45:13-15

Again I know that you Daughters of the Lord are sweet sisters now asking in love, "why is chapter four longer than chapter five." I do understand your frustration. But was throwing my book across the room really necessary?

Yes there are more rules for women. I did not write the Bible. Do not ask me to explain why God decided to make men and women different and to set different standards for them. I am not He. He is He. Ask God why He does what He does if you want. But before you do; read this:

Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? --Romans 9:20

It goes for women too. Again though, let me reiterate: GOD'S LAWS ARE FOR YOUR PROTECTION!

Rule #1. Do not wear a man's garment. God did not say, "do not wear a man's garment, because I do not like it. Here is what God did say: "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God" (Deuteronomy 22:5). God did not stop at saying that the act of cross-dressing is an abomination but that the woman who commits the act is herself an abomination. For the last fifty years the question of women in pants has been debated in fundamentalist churches. The question that every God-loving, Kingdom seeking, Bible living, daughter of God must answer in her own conscience is this: Do pants pertain to a man? It is certainly important that if we are to have good conscience toward God that we prayerfully seek His guidance on any issue that comes up. Instead to often we say, "well differing opinions are out there and not even all the preachers agree. So why worry about it?" Woman you will answer to Jesus some day. Would you answer for your convictions or opinions?

It amazes me, but I do not know any Christian women who would think of committing an act of bestiality or homosexuality, but yet they would commit the abomination of cross- dressing. The Bible says this is an abomination.

Rule #2. Do not dress to Advertise. Among the commands of God that are clear and indisputable is this one: Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body (1 Corinthians 6:18). Jesus taught us the true standard for a sexual sin to be committed is lust in the heart. (Matthew 5:28) But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart (Matthew 5:28). Many a woman will respond, defiantly, "he should not be looking." Rather he should shut his eyes and drive into a telephone pole or hit a pedestrian than notice her cutoff jeans. This defense does not meet the test of scripture: It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak (Romans 14:21).

Rule #3. Do not dress to offend. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God (1 Corinthians 10:32). If "that old biddy" or "that old fogy" is offended by your thighs being uncovered then cover them. Then repent for daring to think so disrespectfully.

Rule #4. Do not dress to expose. Want specifics? Fine. Do not wear mini-skirts, short shorts, halter tops, midriffs, half shirts, bathing suits, or any other garment that is revealing out in public. The function of clothing is to cover. Do not pervert it's purpose by wearing clothing that is intended both to reveal and to call attention to it's revelation. When the sinful Adam and his sinful wife covered themselves with leaves they covered the areas which our society would consider necessary to avoid "indecent exposure." God did not find their covering extensive enough. He made them some clothing that covered their nakedness. All of it. God says a woman's bare thigh is nakedness. Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man (Isaiah 47:2,3).

God defines nakedness as an exposed thigh. The thigh, is the area between the hip and the knee. Thus, any flesh exposed above a woman's knee is considered by God to be exposed nakedness. No matter how high a low-cut top is it is still a low-cut top and any nakedness is nakedness. No matter how high an over the knees skirt is it is still in the area God said was naked.

Rule #5. Do not dress to decorate. God tells women to dress with modesty, shamed facedness, sobriety, and with a view toward being raptured. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broiderd hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array (1 Timothy 2:9); Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand (Philippians 4:5). We are commanded to pray believing God will answer. We are told to pray for the Lord's soon coming. Therefore we should get up in the morning and dress for the Lord's return.

Rule #6. Wear your hair longer than a man's. The same passage of scripture which reveals to us that it is important to God that a man's hair is not to be long teaches the opposite rule for a woman. But for the same reason. First Corinthians 11:14,15, where the Bible says, "Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him. But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering." The question is always asked, "How short is short?" Short is the opposite of long. Let me ask you, miss; Is your hair long? And if you do not know, then it is short, and if it is short, it is not natural for you to have short hair. So what do you need to do? You need to wear a veil until your natural covering grows back.

There is another very important reason why this matters. God made this an issue of Worship. In the same First Corinthians 11 God said that every woman who prays or prophecies with her head uncovered, hair is the context, dishonors her head. That means that your Heavenly Father does not want you to dishonor your head by praying, or worshipping, while your hair is not long.

God's house is called a house of prayer five times in the Bible. If you cannot pray you do not belong there.

I want to bring it down to where you live and why you should do certain things. So knowing these five rules that God has given to a woman's appearance. Let us apply the rules to the different garments women should wear and determine which garments agree with the Biblical dress code and which do not.
