The golden retriever puppies known as the Buddies were playing hide-and-seek when one finds the perfect distraction. Budderball (Josh Flitter) finds an ice cream truck, and Rosebud (Liliana Mumy) follows him. Eventually, Buddha (Jimmy Bennett), B-Dawg (Skyler Gisondo) and Mud-Bud (Henry Hodges) wind up in the truck as well, which is shipping them to Alaska. When they end up there, they meet a Huskie, Shasta (Dylan Sprouse), whose owner Adam (Dominic Scott Kay) wants to mush. Shasta and the puppies find Talon (Kris Kristofferson), who will help them learn how to become sled dogs so Adam can enter a race. With the Buddies’ parents Molly (Molly Shannon) and Buddy (Tom Everett Scott) on the way to find their missing puppies and an sudden snowstorm during the race, the Buddies find their journey to be more adventurous than they had planned.
