HOW THEY BECAME A BAND

HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN? WELL..

Ok, Mark Hoppus's sister had a friend that was dating...yes you guessed it...Tom Delonge! She figured they should meet since they had similar interests. So Mark and Tom met and totally clicked. They both love music and body humor (lol, neat). In 1992, the band was formed and called themselves Blink. They (Tom Delonge: vocals/guitar, Mark Hoppus: vocals/bass, and Scott Raynor: drums) would write songs and jam in Tom's basement. After awhile they recorded a demo tape named "Flyswatter." It was rumored that only 23 copies were made. They recorded another demo tape after playing some small shows and making pretty much nothing. The tape didn't really have a name but was called "Buddha" because of the picture on the cover. Cargo Records signed Blink to their label after they had listened to "Buddha." Now that Blink was signed to a label their name was out in the open. That's when an Irish band also with the name Blink threatened to sue our fav. trio for taking their name. With that going on they knew they had to do something with their name so they just added a random number. Hmmm...wonder which number they decided on. Anyway, their first major CD was released under their new name. "Cheshire Cat" became a hit with the surf, skate scene with its punk rock tune. Few years later they came out with another hit album, "Dude Ranch." With the hit single "Dammit" the band soon gained air play all across the nation and the band headlined the "Vans Warped Tour" and were cracking jokes all along. After "Dude Ranch" was released Blink 182's drummer, Scott Raynor, left the band for some reason. No one knows the real reason why except for Blink 182. That's where Travis Barker comes in (you know him from Psycho Butterfly and The Aquabats). Now with a new drummer in the band and a new record label(MCA Records) they released a new hit album, "Enema Of The State." After their two singles (WMAA and ATST) came out with hilarious videos the Band's fanbase spred all over the world and people love seeing them crack jokes, get naked, and just out there having a good time.
