About the Virginia Native Plant Society
This Society's aim is to strengthen and unify conservation efforts on behalf of Virginia's native and naturalized plants. The combined efforts of the numerous statewide chapters are directed toward:
Conservation public education wildflower cultivation
Landscaping with native plants
Rare plant inventory
Habitat preservation

Society Chapters
The VNPS functions at two levels - state and chapter. The State Board of Directors is actively working to establish Society chapters throughout Virginia and to aid in the development of grass roots programs related to the preservation of our wildlands.
At Large Memberships are available to persons who want to lend support to the aims and purposes of the VNPS without chapter affiliation.
Blue Ridge Chapter Membership
Affiliation with a local chapter provides these additional benefits:
Educational and informative newsletters
Notification of upcoming chapter events and issues of local concern
Personal enrichment through participation in chapter programs/volunteer activities which may include:
conservation wildflower walks
landscaping photography
propagation cultivation
plant rescue plant sales
Each general Membership Meeting has informative speakers and programs. Guests are welcome.
Residents outside the Blue Ridge Chapter counties are invited to join and become a part of vital conservation efforts.
