pH:
   6.5-6.8

WATER TEMP:
   68-75 deg F.

AVG. MAX. SIZE:
   Depends on species 2"-17".

BREEDING:
   Egg-layers

FEEDING:
Mainly Live Foods, Brine Shrimp & Frozen Blood Worms.

LIGHTING:
More nocturnal, prefers dusk and dawn, light lighting, a good trick is to have a red filtered lamp that you can turn on during late night feedings, this way you will be able to watch more of this catfish's movements.

TEMPERAMENT:
Peaceful by themselves, However DO NOT do not keep with Kuhlii Loaches or small Eels. As these smaller worm like species will most likely end up as food for the Banjo.

COMMENTS:
These fish love to bury themselves in sandy substrate, can and will uproot plants within the tank. Closely related to the Whiptail Catfish.

A strange note on these fish, their "skin" actually contains Keratin so it can be called "Skin". They also shed their skin from time to time. Make sure your filtration system is up to the task with this guy, many a filters have been clogged by the shedding habits of the "Banjo Catfish".
