A pretty easy going member of the Cichlid family, relatively easy to spawn. Will get very aggressive when spawning and defending their territory and their young. Males can usually be distinguished from females by having brighter colors and having more pointed ends to their fins. You should have plenty of rockeries and small caves for this species, as well if you have any plants be aware they like to redecorate, so having plants potted seems to work best.
