BREEDING:
   Egg-layers

FEEDING:
   Mainly  Flake.

NOTE:
WARNING!!! This fish is best kept in a brackish tank, one with a lot more salt in it than a standard freshwater aquarium. It can survive in a freshwater aquarium, but for not nearly as long as it can survive in a brackish tank.

LIGHTING:
Bright, they love direct sunlight ( limited hours of course).

TEMPERAMENT:
Very peaceful fish, other than the high pH and love of salt, a great community fish.

COMMENTS:
A fish brought right out of the wilds of Florida and South Carolina. Relatively inexpensive fish, and very easy to breed with the right water conditions. If you live in an area with high pH water, this just might be the fish for you.

The female is rather plain looking but the males can have some great plumage of flowing fins and colors. They do best when in pairs or more.
