Disease:
"Disease", Probably one of the worst words the aquarium hobbyist ever wants to hear. There are a number of different diseases that can attack your fish. I will discuss a few of the more common diseases here. If you have more specific questions or problems, always feel free to ask me directly in the Club (link to your left).

What to look for..or is my fish sick???

   Are the fins being kept folded close to the body?
   Does the fish rocks its body without getting anywhere?
   Do the fins look ragged?
   Do the skin and/or fins show whitish-gray or reddish patches or "spots", any other discoloration's?
   Are there cottony white patches , especially around the mouth area?
   Does the fish seem not normal?


ENVIRONMENTAL DISEASES:
   OXYGEN/ GAS BUBBLE DISEASE
   WATER ACIDITY/ALKALINITY
   POISONING
   HIGH NITROGEN
   CHLORINE
   AMMONIA POISONING

NUTRITIONAL DAMAGE:
   FATTENING
   INTESTINAL INFLAMMATION
   EGG BINDING

EXTERNAL PARASITES:
   ICHTHYOPHTHIRIUS
   VELVET DISEASE
   FIN ROT
   FUNGUS

INTERNAL DISEASES:
   ICHTHYOPHONUS
   PLISTOPHORA or (NEON DISEASE)
   TUBERCULOSIS
   DROPSY/SCALE PROTRUSION
   POP-EYES
   WORM DISEASES
