Chapter 2

Kevin hurried and put the clothes into the bottom of his hamper. Sarah walked in.

"Kevin? Baby, what's wrong?"

"Are you sure I didn't leave the house?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"Just wondering. I still have that feeling."

"It's ok. From now on we will just have to strap you down in the bed."

"Promise?"

"Sure. Whatever you want."

"I'm worried Sarah. There is a murderer on the loose. He's in this neighborhood. What if I wasn't here? I'm worried about your safety."

"I have you. I'll be fine."

"But what if it's me? What if I'm doing this?" Kevin thought. For the next two nights straight he walked in his sleep. He has never done that before. He had never slept walk before. Every morning, Officer Garcia was there. He was reporting the latest murder. They had all been on that street and they were all been young girls. Kevin needed to talk to someone, so he decided it was time to talk to Sarah.

"Sarah can you come up here?" Kevin yelled from their bedroom.

"Just a second." She yelled. He listened as she ran up the stairs.

"Baby, we need to talk." Kevin said in a whisper.

"About what?"

"My sleep walking."

"Ok. And?"

"The murders. They coincide with my sleep walking incidents. What if they are connected?  What of I did them?"

"Kevin you don't actually." She looked deeply into his eyes. She could see the fear.  He was being painfully serious.

"What if I did Sarah? I'm murderer. What am I gonna do?"

"No, you could be. You don't know for sure. There is no proof."

Kevin went to the hamper and pulled out the clothes with the blood on them.

"See this? Blood. Not my blood. I could be the killer. I might have done it."

"No no no. You didn't. You couldn't have."

"Honey..."

"You didn't. You didn't do this." Sarah said as she began to cry. Kevin put his arms around her.

"Baby if I did this, does it change this? Does it change us?"

"No. You had no idea what you were doing. It was not your fault. Besides you did not do this."

"I hope it's not me. Please don't let it be me."

They just stood there in each other's arms for a long time. He hid the clothes.

"I'll fix this. I have to." Kevin told Sarah.

"Can I fix this?" Kevin thought to himself.
