Chapter 3
Neon black lights outlined every brim of the club. Vampires and
Vampiresses ruled in that club. Mixing into the element, mortals
and Vamps danced the night away..letting every beat and rythym
fill their souls and move their bodies.
The baratender watched an attractive vampiress lure her victim into a passionate and seductive dance. Her body swayed with the song...the man had no choice but to watch and let her soft words linger in his mind.
Finally calming down..the vampiress kissed him one last time and lead him to a narrow alley. He breathed the breath of life and mortality for the last time as her fangs drew near to the bare nape of his neck.Wincing in pain and the drainage of his life....evrything went dark.
Satisfied with her meal...she grinned evily at the limp body that hovered over the cardboard boxes that were lined carelessly on the alley brick walls.
"Damn..he was cute too...". Shaking the humorous thought out of her head....the vampiress joined the rest of her dominant kind. Bodies bumped into hers and alcohol reeked on their breaths. Snarling in disgust the vampiress walked faster in a more non-croweded area.
"Welcome back...was he good?" Katherine asked while adjusting the thin strap of her black satin dress.
Amilla smirked at her, "You know I pick the best ones..there is never a time when my feeds are not fulfilling."
Katherine laughed and left to mingle with the rest on the dancefloor. Smoginess of thick cigarette smoke surrounded the club. Waving the smell out of her way, Amilla stripped the room with her eyes. Now that she was fed and satisfied....she needed someone for a little companionship.
The men there were handsome indeed, especially the vampires. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts to find a man. Amilla's eyes wandered the muscular body of a dark and mysterious stranger. He moved with grace and class..but nonetheless suaveness of authority. Amilla smiled in approval and studied him more closely. His piercing green eyes threw shame at the greenest of all grass, his muscular build intimidated some but attracted her more to him than ever. He made his way over to a table with a couple of his friends. Out of curiousity....Amilla wanted to make her presence known to this man.
"Damn Kev..did u have to pick such a spooky place?" Howie asked while shivering at the area that they picked to sit in.
Black vales and silk strips of cloth blew evrywhere as if they were luring someone with their hems. Everyone around them were dressed in extremely dark colors and looked pale as a ghost. Kevin shrugged and looked around him...indeed the place was different and gothic like, but it was nonetheless inviting to the curiousness of the norm.
"It looks pretty good to me D,....it's just a little...different." Kevin answered.
Grinning, A.J nodded in agreement. "Look at all the beautiful women in here D!!! No matter the place or time....beautiful women can always brighten the mood." he chanted while eyeing a particular female in the crowd of dancers.
Everyone laughed at his comment and gave their order of drinks to the waitress. Kevin looked around to find an eligible dancing partner but had to hold his breath at the sight of an enchanting woman who was making her way towards him. He gawked at her..literally.
The sway of her hips while climbing the stairs to the VIP level had him addicted like honey to the bees. The tight burgundy dress she had on sloped her evry curve. Her pouty lips shimmered when they hit the reflection of the voluminous club lights. The dark brown wavy locks in her hair complimented her dark brown eyes and skin with a touch of coffee. She was truely a goddess.
Amilla reached the top of the stairs and noticed the handsome stranger staring at her. Smiling devilishly, she made her way to introduce herself. Approaching him slightly and with a hint of sassiness..Amilla bowed slowly.
"Good evening..I'm Amilla. My friends and I own this club. Welcome to Velvet Seduction." she stated simply.
The five young men stared at her in admiration. Breaking out of his lustation, Kevin stood up to greet the alluring woman.
"I'm Kevin..and these are my friends. Thank you for coming out of your way to make us feel welcomed." he smiled.
Amilla shriveled at his smile...she had to have him. "It was not a problem at all....have a good time gentlemen.." she said while turning to walk away.
"Wait...Amilla...would you maybe...dance with me awhile?" Kevin asked shyly.
"Of course....come." Amilla grinned while leading him to the dancefloor. Kevin looked down at their entangled fingers of their holding hands and it chilled him. She was definitely not the ordinary woman.
Salasia swung her body with the mellow rythm. Her dancing partner was another vamp....they've known each other for ages....literally ages. His loose smile attracted all women. The flirtatious gleam in his eyes were irresistible, but Salasia knew better. He was just looking for some fun and meant or had no intentions to be in relationships. No Vamps ever stayed withsomeone for more than a month or so...repitition was never in their nature and their tolerance for it was low.
His hand slowly cascaded down her waist and formed slightly over her hips. He was definitely going to try something. Salasia felt uncomfortable and pushed his hand away.
"Now, now Angelous....you know the rules." she smiled weakly.
Angelous nodded in decline stubbornly and placed his grip more firmly onto her waist and pulled her close. Salasia..now mad and fustrated simply kneed him in the groin and walked away laughing.
"Bastard...." she grunted.
"Well...I see Angelou has pissed you off again.." the baratender mused while wipping the drinking glasses with a black towel.
Plopping down infront of him on a stool, Salasia sighed..."He knew that I was not interested, yet he alwayz must be an ass and do things like that.."
The baratender laughed again and walked away laughing to serve awaiting customers. She felt alone and out. The people enjoyed themselves, but she felt left out. Deciding to just go and take a walk...Salasia got up to fight through the crowd on the dancefloor to the exit.
A.J sat with his hand propped on his chin....he couldn't feel anymore down. Thoughts of Salasia filled his mind always and he wasn't having a very good time. This caused him to be even more vulnerable to the haunting thoughts of the mysterious beauty that he met that night.
The music blared and suffocated his ears. Finally having enough..A.J leaned over and tapped Howie on the shoulder. Howie, who was having a nice conversation with a beautiful British girl, turned around a little annoyed.
"What Bone?" he asked a bit harsh. A.J was not paying attention to his tone..
"I'm gonna go take a walk or something..I'll be back in bit. But if not I'll just meet you guys back home or something." he said while getting up to leave. Howie nodded comprehensively and shooed him away.
Not really knowing where to go, A.J got into his Midnight Blue BMW and sat in its plush leather seats to ponder a bit. The faint music of the club was still heard through his car door. Men and women came and went...some staring at him just sitting dumbly in a parked car in the middle of the night.
A.J watched as a couple sauntered to their car when all of a sudden a dark figure passed them quickly. The dim light of the lightpoles highlighted her features a bit and immediately A.J recognized who she was.
"Salasia.." he sighed.
"Salasia!!" he hollered while opening the car door. The walking figure stopped in her tracks and turned to see who called her name.
"A.J?" she said incredously. He quickly jogged her direction and stopped short as he neared her.
"What are you doing here?" Salasia asked amazed that she actually ran into him again. A.J smiled at her brightly..
"Just here with my friends..what about you?..I thought I'd never run into again.." he said softly. Salasia's heart kindered...he actually wanted to see her again.
"Well I own this club with friends of mine.." Salasia trailed. A.J nodded understandingly and walked along with her. Silence roamed the air.
"Do you care to come with me to the beach? I hear it's great at night." Salasia suggested. He jumped at her question.
"Sure..I'd go anywhere with you.." A.J flirted. She slapped him on the arm softly..
"I'm sure you will..." she laughed. They walked side by side silently. No verbal conversation was needed. The presence of one another was much more satisfying.
A.J stole a quick glance at her. Her tan yellowish skin gimmered in the moonlight. She walked with assertiveness yet with ease as if she had no worries in the world.
As the beach came into sight, the calm and crashing waves greeted them. The sky was a beautiful dark blue and white stars peered down on everything from above. Slipping off her heels..Salasia sauntered closer to the shore where the water flowed freely onto the sand.
A.J watched as she responded to the waves...sand....breeze. It seemed like she was one with everything. She found a spot where the sand was cool and dry. Salasia swipped up her dress and took a seat. A.J followed her lead and looked out onto the ocean.
Once again nothing was said. Salasia sensed the peacefulness and devoured it greedily. Being away for over a century stuck in a coffin was never pleasant. She watched as A.J blinked his curled lashes against the blowing wind. Every curve of his face was attractive. The lining of his lips and smooth skin reached out to her in a lucious way. Turning away from him..Salasia sighed silently.
"I would always come here when I wanted time alone. Somethings in my life...are so hectic I need to get away from it sometimes." she said..piercing the silence that was kept until now.
A.J looked over at her and grinned. Taking that as a sign to continue..Salasia looked towards him and returned his smile.
"There are just thingz in this world you can't explain, you know?" she asked. A.J nodded in agreement and listened on.
"There are things about me and who I am that I don't understand why or how it came to be. I've been through a lot of misfortunes and sit down to wonder if I'm the only one going through such hell." Salasia added.
"Well..it looks like you lead a pretty good life to me. I mean, you own a great club and you're really beautiful. I can't possibly think of anything that should be giving you such trouble." A.J tried to reason. She chuckled lightly and shook her head at him.
"It's not that. My material things and looks will not help me in my attempt to escape from the emotional things. Things that you can't see. Like I said..there are just somethings that one can not explain."
A.J furried his eyebrows at her and thought hard. "So what are you saying exactly?" he asked finally.
Salasia pulled her knees to her chin and rocked back and forth while searching for the answer to his question. On and on, his question trudged in her mind. Again and again, the explainations she came up with in her mind would never make sense. But then again how easy can explaining to someone that your a vampire be? It's not. They will never understand that in order for you to go on to another day was to feed on them. Humans.
Giving up, Salasia looked over at an awaiting A.J and smiled. "I'm not really who or what you think I am. You'd probably never will see who I really am. But then again....I don't think you'd want to.".
