Experience
3/2000 - Present | Gateway | Lake Forest, California |
While at Gateway I worked on their Internet appliance, the Connected Touch Pad. I worked to resolve USB printing issues in Mobile Linux and modified Mozilla (open source web browser) code to print using banded rasters. I also worked on a small business server product. This was a headless PC running Linux and managed via web browser that provided Internet connection sharing, email, and file and printer sharing.
3/1998 - 3/2000 | Gateway | Hurst, Texas |
While at Gateway I worked on their convergence product, the Destination. Specifically, I helped develop an integrated satellite tuner for the PC based home theater system. The satellite sub-system provided guide data, tuning, setup and diagnostics and was developed using Visual C++ and Windows 95/98.
2/1996 - 3/1998 | Kodak Health Imaging | Richardson, Texas |
While at Kodak I worked on the Medical Image Manager 150. This was a system for the real-time acquisition of medical images and patient data and their delivery to networked medical laser printers and archives. This system was designed using Rational Rose and implemented using Visual C++ and Windows NT 4.0. This project was audited as part of Kodak's ISO 9001 certification.
1/1993 - 2/1996 | Logic Technology | Schenectady, New York |
While working at Logic Technology I helped develop a large database application for General Electric's Apparatus Service Department. This application implemented purchasing, vendor payables, customer invoicing, inventory control, planning and scheduling. I was involved in all phases of the project from requirements specification, detail design, and database design through implementation and testing. I supervised three other LTI employees and coordinated efforts between GE's DBA group and another consulting firm also working on the project.
2/1989 - 1/1993 | New York State Division of Alcoholism | Albany, New York |
While at the Division of Alcoholism I helped implement and maintain a wide area network, with microVAXes in the New York, Albany and Buffalo regional offices running Pathworks and All-in-1. I was also responsible for system and database administration on a Prime 9955 in a complex Oracle production environment. I also developed and maintained a system to give budget analysts timely access to data in an Oracle database, using Lotus 1-2-3, Oracle for 1-2-3, and SQL*ASYNC.
Additional Information
While at Gateway, I was Inventor of the Month for June 2001. I was also recognized with a SpotLight award. The SpotLight program recognizes and rewards employees who perform at high levels and live the Gateway Values.
