Meet the Family

This is a list of many of the books we have read since August 2003.  These are currently organized alphabetically, by title, under subject headings: Science, Social Studies, and Literature.  Many of these include my brief reviews, and/or pertintent information about the book.  An * denotes the title is listed in more than one area (some were more than just literature books, but were definitely worth a read on that level alone). For math we are currently using Essential Math (Nursery A and B) and EarlyBird Math (1A-1B, and planning on using 2A-2B) from Singapore Math. Actually, we completed the first books from each series together in less than 2 months, but I anticipate the pace slowing slightly as we progress. At the end of January we began using the AlphaPhonics book to teach Natalie to read (Be sure to see my page devoted to that endeavor - coming soon).

If You Were at… The First Thanksgiving Kamma, Anne

Simple illustrations accompany this story that gives just enough information to develop an understanding of how we came to celebrate Thanksgiving. This book will be used again and again!
