After searching for several years for a connection of Thomas Phillip Tanner to his Tanner Line I was granted the blessing of making contact with a Ms, Patricia Alred who was able to send me a copy of Thomas Phillips line of Tanners. It is with much thanks to her I print and display this Genealogy . THOMAS TANNER was born February 14, 1793 in Virginia, and died November 08, 1860. He married NANCY G. "ANNA" DAVIS January 24, 1820 in Daviess County, Kentucky, daughter of PHILLIP DAVIS and MARGARET READ. She was born December 23, 1798 in Marshville, Harrison Co West VA, and died January 02, 1878.

Thomas and brother Fredercik Tanner were living in Ohio Co Ky in 1820 census of Ohio Co KY.
Thomas and Ann Davis Tanner were living in Dist 2 Daviess Co Ky 1850- Census taken Sept 2, 1850. Thomas is 56 and Farmer 14, 511 b Ky, Ann 53 b Va, children living with them Will D. age 25 b Ky, Jane age 18 b Ky, Nancy age 14 b Ky, Esther age either 11 or 4, Frederick age 16 and Victoria age 8 b Ky.

Oral family stories say Thomas and Ann are buried in Old Elon Cemetery here in Lauderdale Co Tn. Have never located a stone but this is old cemetery and stones are gone destroyed or in pieces or just base.
It is also said Thomas and Frederick Tanner his brother fought in War of 1812 in Battle of New Orleans. One day will search further for proof of this.

CALVIN R.  TANNER  was born February 03, 1823 in Kentucky, and died April 14, 1876. He      married AMANDA M. PORTER June 10, 1847 in Daviess Co. Ky., daughter of CHARLES B. PORTER. She was born May 30, 1828 in Kentucky, and died September 02, 1881 in Daviess Co. Ky..

                   Calvin R. Tanner and Amanda M. Porter were married June 10, 1846 by Fred Tanner Minister
                    in Daviess Co KY.
                    In 1850 Census Daviess Co Ky Dist 2 Census taken Sept 18, 1850. Lives in 324-328, Calvin          
                    R. Tanner is 27, Amanda is 21,Tthomas is 3 and Charles is 1. Also living with them is
                    Charles B. Porter age 56 who was a carpenter and James Porter who is 15. I believe that
                    Charles B. Porter could be Amanda M. Porter's father. Living in HH 323-327 is a Charles W.
                    Porter age 25 and his wife and daughter Susan. This is good possibility of being Amanda's
                    brother.
