William and Elizabeths families were from Somerset Kentucky. They were married September 14, 1875, At the home of Elizabeths father. It was both William and Elizabeth first and only marriage. Elizabeth was 21 and William 22, at the time of the marriage.

Stephen Smith Sr. and Nancy Ann Burnley I believe to be William A.Smiths Great Grand Parents
Stephen was born April 18, 1756 . and Nancy was born August 09, 1767 ,both were born in in Orange Co. VA. They moved to KY. In 1809.
Stephen died November 28, 1811 and Nancy Died February 11, 1853, both died in Pulaski Co. KY. They were married September 04, 1787 King William County, VA.

Nancy stated that she and Stephen Smith SR had 7 children and Stephen Smith SR had at least one ,Thomas by another marriage.
Of Nancys seven I have only three names 1.Elizabeth b: 1795 m: Etheldred Wheeler 2.John B. b: 1798 3.Stephen b: 1800 m: Mary Polly Tubbs .

Stephan Smith SR. served from 1777 to 1780 as a private in Capt.Henry Quarles Virginia Artillery for which he was given 100 acres in Pulaski Co.Ky. Stephen Sr., Thomas and wife are buried on the grounds of the Somerset Community College

Stephen Smith JR and Mary Polly Tubbs were Williams Grandparents. Stephen JR was born 1800 in Louisa, Virginia and he died about 1850. Mary Polly was born in 1804 and died in 1875 . They were married March 11, 1827. I believe them to be the parents of Edmond Smith .

Edmond Smith was born 1831 and he married first Margaret Hendricks who was born Abt. 1828 William was born the same year December 14 William had both a sister Sarah and a brother James. Their mother Margaret passed away from Consumption shortly after James was born, Margarets parents were Armstrong & Mary Hendrix.
Edmond Married Mary Robertson. In1860. Mary and Edmond had a daughter Mary. This daughter ,Williams half sister died from Flux

Elizabeths parents were Jackson Stroud and Frankie Dick
Jackson Stroud was born July 09, 1815 and died February 19, 1912 .Jackson and Frankie were married July 12, 1847.

Jacksons father was Ansell Stroud Born 1777, Chester Co. S. Car. Ansell Strouds wife and Jacksons mother was Sally Adams.
Sally and Ansell were married January 09, 1805 This is Elisabeths father and his parents

Elizabeths Mother Frankie Dick was born September 26, 1812
Frankie Dicks Parents were Samuel Dick Born October 11, 1792- Died September 11, 1849 and Frances Frankie Allen born May 06, 1784 and died October 11, 1849 Frankie Allen and Samuel Dick were married ,April 20, 1805 Orange County, North Carolina.

Jackson and Frankie had seven children counting Elizabeth.
Alexander the oldest son born in 1847,Semerinus oldest daughter 1849, Millard 1852, Elizabeth in the middle 1853,Wallace 1855,Mary youngest daughter 1858, and Robert youngest son 1860.

William and Elizabeth were married September14 1875 in Pulaski Co. Kentucky. William was listed as a farmer on his Marriage Certificate and that seemed to be what he did as long as he lived. He and Elizabeth raised ten Children the oldest being Maggie

Maggie was born June 14, 1876 She married John Nelson Maggie and John had at least three children that I have count for Willy, Ora, and Launa other than their names I have no information. John and Maggie were married in Fredonia Kansas.Maggie passed away November 03, 1918 .

William and Elizabeths next child was born February 15,1878.Cyrus M. Smith married Ellen Ferguson. Cyrus and Ellen had seven children. Arlene, Lois, Hazel, Howard, Geneva, Marion, and Harold.
Cyrus died January 06 1952.

Sarah Alice Smith, third child of William and Elizabeth Was born April 21, 1881 She married John Enz. Alice, (as most called her) and John Enz had two daughters, Alma and Flo. Alma married Omer Perciful, Flo married John Boyett. Sarah Alice passed October21,1953

Alma Mae Smith born December 19, 1883 and died September 01, 1949 Married Oscar Brannum they never had any Children. Although her name was Alma she was also known as Annie.

Maude Smith born April 05 1885 Died two days before Christmas, December 22, 1965. Maude Married Walter Timmons and they had four Children Clifford, Maxine, Vernon, and Willard.

Elise Lee was born February 12 1888 She died August 25, 1957.On June 02,1908 she married George Eloitt Raborn Elise and George had three children. George Leon, Ilia Rhea, and Deloris.
George Leon went by Leon and Deloris was always called Dorothy.
Elise was called Elise except for those like me that had a better name for her like "Grandma"

Dora Smith was born April 04, 1890 Ten days later, April 14, 1890 She went Home. May She rest in peace.

Harlan C. Smith born April ,08 1891 Died November22,1910 His life was short. He loved to play ball and was much favored by his Sisters and Brother. It was believed to be an ruptured appendix that took his life.

Nellie Smith Born July 22, 1893 Married Hugh Edward Raborn January 05, 1913 Hugh and Nellie had two children David Hugh and Nell Nadine. Hugh Raborn was a nephew to Elise (Nellie sister) husband George. So their Children were both 1st and 2nd cousins. Nellie Smith Raborn died December 13 1950.

The last child of William and Elizabeth Was born August 10, 1895.Ethel Smith married Harrison Patterson. Harrison and Ethel had two children Del Rue And Mildred. Ethel passed away November 04, 1971
