This is not one poem. Rather a series of a lot of short poems (4 lines each) They are unrelated so please don't read them as one large poem.

Like a Thousand teardrops

                  “Shards of Reflection” –Vampire Compilation

Death falls like a thousand teardrops

Each colder than the one before

A symphony of pain and sorrow

Blessed by the bleeding of time

A strange bird, white eyes black

Stares at his distorted reflection

Blue feathers in the dirty puddle

The gateway to a better place

Three doors, left to right

Blue, red, black and gray

Gray for the walls and floors

Gray for the color of the world

Another archway leading nowhere

Crumbled beauty from the past

Defaced long ago by hands unseen

The ever-present hands of time

Hushed whispers in the corridor

Hollow hallway by candlelight

A place haunted by faded memories

No rest for fear to be forgotten

Staring flatly, eyes like a doll

Her skin cracked and peeling

By the dust and tears of paint

The portrait sits alone on the wall

One scream, short and loud

True voice of pain and anger

The slow creeping of madness

That falls upon despair

A simple no in the back of your head

A hint of doubt that you can’t shake

A creeping impression of disaccord

The voice of reason guiding you

I am love. I am lover

I am stone. I am stoned

I am pain. I am painful

I am happy…

Find me, I am here

In these walls I feel no fear

To my land I am condemned

But in this place, I am command.

See me for what I am

A beast trapped in this body

The eyes of a young man

With a taste for pain

I took you here to see you cry

To make you bleed, to see you die

In my arms, as if you were my lover

For in truth, I love no other.

Smile at me, so I can see the moon

With your tears you’ll make the stars

And your kiss will be the sun

Your body contains my universe
