| "Confirmation" is a
time-honored rite of passage for youth to come to know
their faith in Jesus Christ. In a series of
classes, youth learned about the core doctrines of the
Christian faith; the rich heritage of our Wesleyan roots
["grace" as taught by John Wesley]; the traditions of
The United Methodist Church; and what it means to belong
to be a connectional "glocal" church community -- both
local and global. In short, our youth learned to
"Claim the Name Christian" and to "Claim the Name United
Methodist !" Let us celebrate our Confirmands:
