Judy Klement Exhibit
February 4 - February 26
Reception and Portait Demonstrations:
               Sunday, February 5, 1-4 pm

The Camarillo Art Center will host an exhibit by award-winning fine artist Judy Klement beginning on February 4. Klement will do watercolor portrait demonstrations at a reception to be held on Sunday, February 5 from 1-4 P.M., during which one visitor will win a free portrait. Klement’s Realistic-Impressionistic paintings of scenery, seascapes, buildings, flowers, animals, and people capture the moment as art. Her exhibit will feature panoramic land and ocean vistas and her realistic impressions of the sights, scenes, and people of California. While adept in many mediums, she favors pastels but offers instruction in all. She is also offering a special rate on portraits for Valentine’s Day.

Watercolor Classes by Audrey Rubin

Many people are intimidated by watercolor’s reputation as difficult and unforgiving…”once it’s down on paper, you can’t fix it.” We aim to disprove that perception by learning to use this beautiful (and idiosyncratic) medium.
  Mondays 12:30 - 3:00 pm
  $20 per class

Gallery Hosts Needed

We are having trouble finding volunteers to gallery-host. We need your help. If each member would volunteer just a couple of times a year, we can keep the gallery open every weekend. Please call or e-mail Kelly Ornelaz and let her know when you can help. 805.407.0605, k_ornelaz@hotmail.com

Thursday Morning Paint-Ins

A reminder to all CAC members that Thursday mornings are set aside for “come-as-you-are, get-away-from-the-distractions-at–home” to paint with friends. It is a wonderful opportunity to be social and work at your art in a collegial setting. There’s plenty of room, no fees, good company, and a great atmosphere for developing and fostering one’s craft. Current “regulars” enjoy camaraderie, mutual constructive critiquing, informal sharing of techniques, and lots of encouragement for each other. Take advantage of this opportunity to schedule some quality time to devote to your art! You’ll have a good time and do some good work!

New Board Meeting Schedule:

Board Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Camarillo Art Center.
Hope some of you will be able to attend.
We need your input!

We encourage all interested members to attend these meetings and share your ideas with the board on how to encourage new members and plan our schedule for the new year.

More Member Benefits

The Art Center owns outdoor display panels that are available to our members at no charge. We also own an outdoor tent that members may borrow for a show. Call one of our board members for more information on borrowing them for an outdoor show you want to participate in. We also rent these panels to non-members for $5 per panel.

We have an excellent collection of art instruction books for our members in our bookcase at the gallery. We use the “honor system”: Just take the book(s) you would like to study and return when you are done. The library is accessible whenever the gallery is open.
