Where To Begin?

It's been quite a while eh? Hehe... tell me about it. But I'm not gonna whine and cry and apologize for not updating the News & Views, so I'm just gonna recap my thoughts on several important (at least to me) events/wrestlers that have captured my attention these past few months.... though I'll save my thoughts on Survivor Series and yesterday's RAW for later...

• Vince McMahon make the best comedy duo on tv. Whenever these guys get together, it's absolute magic.
• I actually like Droz in the L.O.D. He and Animal really work well together. Plus the whole L.O.D image works well with Droz's haircut and tattoos. But come on, he tries too "kill" off Hawk? Please.
• Why the hell has Marc Henry been pushed down our throats so hard? The guy sucks. Here's a list of more people who do not deserve their pushes:
  1. Stevie Ray - can't put a decent move together, and he can't interview.
  2. Kurrgan - can't wrestle.
  3. Golga (dunno about Silva yet... I've only seen him wrestle once.)
  4. Mongo McMichael - just damn annoying.
  5. Horace - too much exposure too soon.
  6. Tiger Ali Singh - classic gimmic, but the guy is just another boring stiff.
  7. Dwayne Gill - jobber competes for the WWF World Title? Come off it! 8)
• The Brood really impress me. Great moves, great theme music, just need some mic time.
• Whenever Steve Regal walks that aisle, he looks like he wishes he was dead. I wish they'd do something with this angle and fast.

What Does Jeff Jarrett Have To Do?

But why? He's got the wrestling talent, that's for sure. He's not "hardcore" but he can put on a great technical wrestling show with the best of them. Check out his matches with Ric Flair, HBK or even Scott Hall. All were at least four star matches.

He's been WCW U.S. Champion, and WWF Intercontinental champ on several occasions. But he just can't get over. In the WWF, he was pushed as the greatest singer, wrestler and entertainer in the world today. Sure, he had somewhat of a cult following as "Double J" but the response wasn't good enough. So he tried he chances in WCW. There, he was pushed as the next Ric Flair. But the fans wouldn't accept him.

Now we come to late last year when Jeff Jarrett returned to the WWF. He was now "The Shooter" Jeff Jarrett because of his comments against WCW and Vince McMahon. He complained about the stupid gimmics, the failure of the fans to accept him and how he was being kept back by people who sucked up to the boss. He became affiliated with the "NWA Invasion" angle which eventually fizzled due to lack of interest and attention. Once that angle concluded, Jeff once again became "Double J" the gimmic which he badmouthed so wholeheartedly just a few months before. Tennessee Lee became his manager and once again wore the sunglasses covered with tiny lights.

Now we've come full circle. Jeff has dropped the country music singer gimmic once again, and seems to be back as the Shooter. He's aligned himself with "Southern Justice", who were formally the Godwinns, however that relationship has also been cut short due to Mark Canterbury's worsened neck injury. He still wields a guitar now and then, but just to whap the crap out of people. He's become "Don't Piss Me Off" Jeff Jarrett for lack of a better term. His hair has been cut (courtesy of X-Pac) and has rejoined his manager in WCW, Deborah McMichael.

So what should Jeff do to get over? Two things: 1) A Good Feud and 2) More Exposure. This new Jeff Jarrett has gotten at least some good reaction with his attacks on X-Pac and Darren Drosdov. And now with this looming Blue Blazer angle, maybe bluer skys are ahead. Jarrett needs another good interview (no matter how scripted), and if his involvement with Deborah and the Blazercan grab the fans' attention then he might be on his way to being what he really should be, a superstar.
