In Your House "St. Valentines Day Massacre"

  • Goldust pinned Bluedust following the Curtain Call. He then gave him the Shattered Dreams groin kick after the match was over.

  • Bob Holly beat Al Snow to win the vacant WWF Hardcore Title. Holly scored the pin by rolling snow in a bundle of chicken-wire on the banks of the Mississippi River.

  • The Big Bossman pinned Midian following a Sidewalk Slam. Afterwards the Bossman was attacked by the Ministry of Darkness.

  • Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett beat D-Lo Brown and Mark Henry to retain the WWF Tag Team Titles. While the ref was tied up by a scuffle between Debra McMichael and Ivory, Owen Hart hit Mark Henry in the knee with a guitar. Jarrett then applied the Figure Four for the win.

  • Val Venis, with the help of a fast count from special referee Billy Gunn, beat Ken Shamrock to win the WWF Intercontinental Title. Gunn fought with Venis after the match.

  • Chyna and Kane beat Hunter Hearst Helmsley and X-Pac. Triple H had Chyna set up for the Pedigree, but Kane took him out with a chokeslam and put Chyna on top to get the pin.

  • Mankind and the Rock battled to a draw in the "Last Man Standing" match when the two knocked each other out with simultaneous chair shots. Neither man was able to get up before the referee's ten count, and both were wheeled out afterwards to a pair of waiting ambulances.

  • "Stone Cold" Steve Austin beat Vince McMahon in the Steel Cage match. The two brawled for quite some time without the match even being officially started. The fight then ended when Austin knocked McMahon off the cage, smashing through the Spanish announcer's table! WWF officials were going to declare Austin the winner, but he demanded that the action continue. Austin pulled McMahon off his stretcher, threw him into the cage, busted him open with a toss into the cage wall, then hit him with the Stone Cold Stunner. Before Austin could leave the cage, though, Paul Wight crawled up through a hole in the mat and attacked him. McMahon ordered Wight to throw Austin into the cage. He did, but this backfired as the cage wall broke apart, swung open, and Austin dropped to the floor outside, winning the match. Austin will go on to get a title shot at WrestleMania.

  • Another lackluster In Your House event, with the exception of the main event. The only other highspots were the mixed tag and world title matches. I was very imressed with Chyna and Kane and Mankind and The Rock put on another classic. The end really didn't make much sense since it took 11 chairshots to knock Foley out at the rumble. One chair from each guy and they're both unconscious? Come off it... Vince really put out ALL the stops in this one, and put any bumps that Bischoff ever took to shame. It was a fitting end for Vince's wrestling career. The ending was great as it made Austin, Vince and of course Paul Wight look great. Superb. This event did set up Wrestlemania very well, so points for that. I watched this one on WWF Internet Pay Per View since the payment of the cable bill got screwed up. I must admit, we watched this one via cable modem on 4 different computers, and the quality wasn't half bad. Only 7 bucks too. Maybe this'll be the norm someday... Valentine's Day Massacre gets a 7/10.
