Below
you will find information on the desires of Greece on Albania taken from the
book “Ellada sipna (Wake up Greece)” written by the Greek author Andreas
Dendrinos:
“The first blow which caused Greece to shrink has come from communist Romania
which was founded in 1945 and “New Albania”. The first thing that the
Bolsheviks have done is to clear their land of Greeks. The easiest way for the
Romanians to do this was to banish the Greeks from their lands and expropriate
their properties. However this was not so easy in Albania since there is high
Greek population in this country. Albania tried to exterminate the Greek
population by committing many massacres and legal expropriations, banning the
religion, forcing the Greek population to migrate and making forced mixed
marriages. Albania has done this over a long period of time and in the ned the
Greek population has decreased to such levels that it can not be guessed even
today.”
“Even
Albania claims rights over the past and today because it wants to hush up the
slavery of the Greeks living in the Epirus region. Albania propagandizes by
taking the advantage of the opportunity of the stupidity of the regime that we
have even in Greece and claims that Albanians
belong to Albania. This menas that Albaina claims rights over the Attica region.
But Albanians have always been Greeks and christian orthodox. They were speaking
Albanian because they were living with Greek and Albanian people. They continue
to be Greeks, to be christian, to speak Greek and to have Albanian accents.
Anyway it has become clear that they are Greeks because of the failure of the
Albanian propaganda.”
“For
the Albania subject we can say that Greece must invade North Epirus region to
the Berati by any means. Moreover Greece, thinking that Albanians have the Greek
and Illira origins, must try to make Albanians christians.”
Until 1961 Albania was in a good cooperation with Russia, from this date the country has closed all doors to superior powers and has withdrawn to its own shell. Under the control of Enver Hodja and Ramiz Alia the doors of the country to the external world has remained closed. These closed doors have opened when Sali Beriţa came to power.
