The path of blood through the heart.

Here I will explain the path of a drop of blood as it travels through the heart.

Blood enters the heart through either the superior of inferior vena cava into the right atrium. Next the blood travels through a one way valve into the right ventricle. Then it leaves through the pulmonary artery to go to one of your lungs where it releases carbon dioxide and picks up oxygen.
The blood then leaves through the pulmonary vein into the left atrium. It then passes through another valve and goes into the left ventricle. Finally the blood exits the heart through the aorta, and heads back out to the body.
