1. One message being sent to your brain has to pass throught millions of nerve cells!
2. It has to travel the same distance coming back from the brain!
3. This entire process of going to your brain and back takes only a very small fraction of a second!
4. If an impulse had to travel 100 meters to your brain, and then back, it would only take about one second!
5. Nerve cells arent actually touching. The impulse passes from neuron to neuron through a small empty space called a synapse!
