Important !
By original intent, this
cap was designed to be tapped with two separate fittings and (stainless steel) hoses that
lead the
oil to a remote area (usually around the bracket for cruise control). Here the sending
units were fitted to the opposite
side of the oil hose and then the electrical wires lead to the VDO cluster inside of the
car.
Now we have the ability to tap
the sending units *directly* to the cap itself !!! (pictures # 5, #6, #7).
This required additional machining ($38.50)
However, in reality there
is no additional 'net' cost to you as by doing this you will eliminate the need to purchase of
special fittings and stainless steel hoses. Or in another words, the stainless steel hoses
and special fittings would
probably cost at least $38.50 (probably more).
