Setup:
- 4 to 6 players require 2 decks.
- Do not use jokers.
Scoring:
- A = 15 points
- K-10 = 10 points
- 9 2 = 5 points
- Wild card = 100 points
Beginning play:
- Play begins by turning one card up to player on dealers left. The card that is turned up will determine the number of cards that player gets to start. If an Ace is turned up the player gets 15 additional cards. If a 10 or face card is turned up the player gets 10 cards. For cards 9 2 player gets the number of cards that card indicates. If a 9 is turned up, player gets 9 cards, if a 5 is turned up player gets 5 cards, etc.
- Dealer continues to deal to each player in turn following the rule above.
- After each player has the prescribe number of cards, the dealer than turns one card, face up, to the player on his left. This is the wild card for this deal. Dealer than turns up a card and begins the discard pile. Players discard onto the discard pile so that each card is visible.
- The player to the dealers left begins play by taking the card, which is on the discard pile, and making a play. If the player on the dealers left cannot use the card on the discard pile, play passes to the next player. This continues until someone can use the discard to make a play. Once someone uses this first discard, play continues as normal. If play goes all the way around the table with no one using this card, everyone counts their score according to scoring above and adds this amount to their total.
- The player using the card on the discard pile will make plays by playing sets of three or more, or runs of three or more cards from the same suit. This player may make as many plays as he can before discarding.
- The next player may use the card that was just discarded or draw from the top of the pile. As play continues, there is the possibility of several cards on the discard pile. Any player may take any card in this pile but they must take all the cards discarded on top of this card. This is the reason for discarding cards in a manner that all cards on the discard pile are visible.
- The player drawing cards from the discard pile must use the top card taken to make a play.
- Play continues in this manner until a player goes out. This requires using all cards in his/her hand. This player may have a discard but it isnt necessary. If this player goes out with a discard, play is over. If this player goes out without a discard, the player to the left of the player going out may draw a card from the top of the pile and make as many plays as he/she can. Everyone subtracts the total points in their hand from points played in front of them and adds or subtracts the results from their previous score.
- A player may play on any other players runs or sets by placing that card in front of themselves. Make sure you keep track of cards that are played on runs to insure more than one player does not play on the same run.
Rules:
- Game is over when one player is completely out of cards.
- First player to reach 1400 points is the winner.
- If more than one player reaches 1400 points, the player with the highest score wins.
- Wild cards in your hand count 100 points if someone goes out.
- If some one discards a card that plays somewhere on the table, the first person to spot it may pick it up and play it. You do not have to wait for your turn to do this however, in order to pick up the card you must be down.
- An Ace may only be played in runs on the high end, never as a 1 in a 1,2,3 run.
