BOO RAY
Setup:
- May be played with 4-6 players, requires one deck, no jokers.
- Each player antes a nickel to begin each game.
Scoring:
- There are a total of 5 tricks available each hand
- Person with the most tricks wins the hand
- If two people tie with high number of tricks no money is awarded.
Beginning play:
- Dealer is chosen by pulling a card and deciding weather high or low card deals.
- Dealer deals 5 cards to each player and turns his last card face up.
- This is trump suit and insures the dealer of at least one trump.
- Players in turn from dealers left must declare if they are going to play this hand.
- If the dealer calls a convention, names the trump suit before turning it up, everyone must play that hand.
- This can only occur at the beginning of a new hand.
- Player to dealers left begins play by playing any card in his/her hand.
- Player to left must follow suit but is not required to beat the trick.
- If a player does not have a suit they must use trump suit.
- When a player plays trump suit he must beat any other trump already played, if player cannot beat trump played he/she must still discard a trump card if they have one.
- After all players have played, the person with the highest card of the suit led takes the trick unless a player was out of the suit and plays trump. If more than one player plays trump the high trump takes the trick.
- The person taking the most tricks wins the money in the pot.
- Any person, who declares they will play a hand and does not take a trick, must match the money in the pot.
- There is a 1-dollar match limit.
- If a player does not play a hand and the remaining players have a tie with high number of tricks, money stays and the player who did not play the hand is again eligible to play the next hand.
- Play may be ended at any time by a consensus of players.
Rules:
- Must beat trump when played.
- Must follow suit if possible.
- If you are out of a suit you must use any trump in your hand.
