BOO RAY

 

Setup:

1. May be played with 4-6 players, requires one deck, no jokers.
2. Each player antes a nickel to begin each game.

 

Scoring:

1. There are a total of 5 tricks available each hand
2. Person with the most tricks wins the hand
3. If two people tie with high number of tricks no money is awarded.

 

Beginning play:

1. Dealer is chosen by pulling a card and deciding weather high or low card deals.
2. Dealer deals 5 cards to each player and turns his last card face up.
3. This is trump suit and insures the dealer of at least one trump.
4. Players in turn from dealers left must declare if they are going to play this hand.
5. If the dealer calls a convention, names the trump suit before turning it up, everyone must play that hand.
6. This can only occur at the beginning of a new hand.
7. Player to dealers left begins play by playing any card in his/her hand.
8. Player to left must follow suit but is not required to beat the trick.
9. If a player does not have a suit they must use trump suit.
10. When a player plays trump suit he must beat any other trump already played, if player cannot beat trump played he/she must still discard a trump card if they have one.
11. After all players have played, the person with the highest card of the suit led takes the trick unless a player was out of the suit and plays trump. If more than one player plays trump the high trump takes the trick.
12. The person taking the most tricks wins the money in the pot.
13. Any person, who declares they will play a hand and does not take a trick, must match the money in the pot.
14. There is a 1-dollar match limit.
15. If a player does not play a hand and the remaining players have a tie with high number of tricks, money stays and the player who did not play the hand is again eligible to play the next hand.
16. Play may be ended at any time by a consensus of players.

 

Rules:

1. Must beat trump when played.
2. Must follow suit if possible.
3. If you are out of a suit you must use any trump in your hand.
