CONCENTRATION
Setup:
- 2 to 6 players require 1 deck, no jokers
- Each person starts with 3 nickels on the table
Scoring:
- Two cards that match equal a score of 0
- Aces are 1 point
- Kings are 0 points
- 2 thru 9 are face value
- 10 thru Queen are 10 points
Beginning play:
- Each person gets dealt 4 cards face down and they must place them in a box pattern. Dealer than turns one card up on the discard pile.
- Player to dealers left looks at only two of his/her cards and than places them face down again.
- Player than draws one card from the top of the deck or the discard pile and replaces one of the cards face down in from of them or discards the card. This player must have one of his hidden cards face up at this time.
- Play moves to the left with each player in turn doing this exact thing.
- When all four cards are face up for each player scoring takes place.
- High score puts one of his/her nickels into a pot.
- When a player has lost all of his/her nickels they may “free ride” one time.
- After a player who is free riding loses, he/she is out of the game and the remaining players continue.
- The player who is left after all others have been eliminated gets the money in the pot.
Rules:
- Player may only look at their cards one time when their first turn comes.
- A face down card must be turned up if you decide to discard the card you pull from the deck.
- If you decide to replace a face down card with a card you pull from the pile you may not look at the face down card and you cannot change your mind after the card is exposed.
