Breeding American Songbirds

Hard cover book, beautifully illustrated with more then 250 photographs of the most beautiful Carduelan finch species of the Americas. Most of those birds were bred by the author himself (Rob van den Hulst) and he writes from his own experience. For those who are trying to branch into the upper-middle level of Finch breeding (Carduelan species) this is one of those books "must have", if anything just for reference. Rob van den Hulst in this book is describing the requirements for breeding of: four species of Cardinals, seven species of Grosbeaks, including the very beautiful Yellow Grosbeak and the larger finches, the whole of the 19 cm (8 inch) the Black-backed Grosbeak, five of the most colorful species of Buntings including the Indigo and the Painted Bunting and five species of Siskins including the Lawrence's and the American Goldfinches.
In Europe this book is available from the Centrium Books

Fringillidi Speciali
by Dr.Giorgio de Baseggio
monduccelli@tiscali.it

This new book by Dr. Baseggio is a wealth of knowledge about genetics and how to choose and pair up birds to produce various mutations, it's just the book for those who are into Carduelan specie mutations. Read about his new technique on how to reproduce Carduelan species in captivity and here he is sharing it with the rest of us. I have been breeding Carduelan species continuously for about 25 years, I know almost everyone in the word who bred or breeds Carduelan Species, over the years I have seen breeders come and go, to be honest cannot name to many who were in the hobby when I started but I know for certain that Dr Baseggio has been breeding them much longer than most of us. For those who believed that a black Canary could not be produced, Dr. Baseggio has already produced several generations, congratulations!  Let's wait another couple of years, did anyone say blue Canaries cannot be produced?

Thank You!
