Carl Víctor Herrera Allen, his complete name, was born December the 14th 1966 in Trinidad and he began to practice this sport with 13 years of age. In the "Liga Especial de Baloncesto"  in Venezuela was named Rookier of the Year in the Season 1984, He was Leader in Blocks in the seasons 1986, 1987 and 1989, Leader of  Rebounds in 1989 and 1990, Leader in Field Goals in 1985, 1986 and 1988, besides being named the Most Valuable Player in the Season of 1990 in which won the Championship  with  Bravos of  Portuguesa. He was formed in the Liceo Simón Bolívar of Caracas and in 1987 it entered in the Jacksonville, where it remained up to 1989. It played with the University of Houston in the season 1989-1990. Miami Heat chose him in the second round of the draft of the NBA in 1990 and Miami sold its rights to Houston Rockets. In the season 1990-1991 it went to play Spain after being registered by the Real Madrid, with the one that was second place of the Copa Korac. In 1991 he returned to United States, where it entered in the discipline of the Houston Rockets. It remained in this team up to 1995 and champion of the NBA was proclaimed in the seasons 1993-1994 and 1994-1995 becoming the first Latin American in winning a NBA title. Next he passed to another team of the NBA, the San Antonio Spurs. It debuted with the national selection of Venezuela when he was only 16 years old, it was member of the one selected Venezuelan that after getting the South American championship of Nations carried out in Valencia Carabobo in 1991, it disputed the Final of the Tournament of the America in Portland Oregon against the Dream Team representative of the United States. Then he disputed the Olympic Games of Barcelona (1992). He plays as eaves and, in spite of their 6'9'' of height, he possesses very good coordination, a lot of speed and great jump capacity.
On June the 24th 1998 during the Draft of the NBA, it was changed by the San Antonio Spurs to the Vancouver Grizzlies next to the of the Dominican Republic Felipe López (selected by San Antonio in the position number 24), for the guard Antonio Daniels. Was waived by Grizzlies and hired by Denver Nuggets.
