Greenhouse for Sue Richard
Yardiac 6 x 8 foot aluminum and clear twin-wall polycarbonate glazing
The greenhouse as it appears
today. The greenhouse was built from a kit
and the kit included everything needed to construct the greenhouse.
The floor
was added and it is sand and stepping stones. The greenhouse is tied
down
with wire that hooks into anchors at each corner.
The greenhouse as it appears
today from a slightly different angle.
The greenhouse from the rear
showing the lower louvered vents located near the floor line.
The interior showing the
stepping stone/sand floor as well as the many tomatoe
plants growing in pots. Also there are some spices growing and Sue is
beginning
new growings of tomatoes and other plants.
The fan is in there to help
circulate air and a little cooler air with the use of the soaked
cardbard material. I hope to add more material to help bring down the
daytime
temperature which rises well above 100.
On the rear is a shelf for
plants. A two level free standing shelving system that fits
along one wall is on back order and should arrive any day now.
I have ordered a misting
system that will assist in adding cooling to the greenhouse
as well as a special covering that will be draped over the roof
during in the summer
months to help lower the interior temperature by 15 to 20
degress.

above.
The roof vent suppliied with
the kit. The roof vent as well as the louvered vent
on the lower rear wall are covered in detachable screening material
that hopefully
will keep out most bugs that usually damage and destroy the tomatoes
in the area..
