Sue's Castle...early phase of construction of our "retirement home"...This was taken about 4 days into construction.

The house as of 7/25/06. The interior is taking shape with the sheetrock and paneling being installed, and the windows now in place. The interior doors and ceiling tiles have arrived and will go in next. The exterior doors are due any moment now...

My office and computer room with the view... the field is where Sue's cousin grazes some of his cattle and horses -- peaceful and quiet. This view will be my refuge when I want to think and work...

the mess left by the carpenters. They do not clean up after themselves -- but once a week the builder sends in a clean up crew who picks up the stuff and hauls it away...

The house is small, about the same square footage as our former Kenner house (1200 sq ft +) but is perfect for the two of us.

We are now going "country" and need a truck instead of a 14 year old car. I already have bought jeans (1st time since I was a teenager) and some work boots...the only thing I need now is the cowboy hat and shirt (I will pass on them, though.)

Part of our house payment went into the large downpayment (about 60% of the cost) for the truck. We found a cheaper one, but it was to sparce and I wanted one that would be comfortable. The year end deal they cut helped bring the price down to within a grand or two of what I wanted to pay for a truck. This one has everything I wanted on it and is really comfortable to drive and ride in. Now when I drive, I look DOWN on other vehicles rather than them looking DOWN on me...Ha Ha.

Below are a couple of links to my artwork site where I am displaying some of my artwork that I did to keep my mind off of the problems we were having in Kenner, until the house there was finally sold on the 18th of this month.
