One Small Step Forward! A Tale of One Family... Their Brush with Hurricane Katrina
August 29, 2005.
This is a date that for this web master and his family, the world as we knew it changed...forever.
We survived the wrath of Hurricane Katrina and watched helplessly as our world changed. We lost the use of our home for months and were taken in by relatives across the state to wait out the aftermath of this major catastrophe.
I was prompted to write about our experiences that unfolded as a result of this storm by many requests from friends and family.
Our experiences pale in comparison to the experiences of the residents of the hardest hit areas of the Gulf Coast. Much of what they endured was shown on TV for all the world to witness -- and stare in disbelief.
Our experiences were far less in scope.
Our experiences were no less painful to us.
Our experiences continue to this day and will for months to come.
Katrina changed our lives FOREVER.

A Search by a Margraten Caretaker
Did you know that there are some wonderful folks
who are still caring for the individual grave sites
of our World War II soldiers who fell in combat?Hard to believe -- but true!
To this day, the care of a grave site
at many of the U. S. Cemeteries in Europe
have been passed down from one generation
to another and these wonderful folks
take on the task of care taking
as a means of saying
"Thank You"
for the ultimate sacrifice
given by American soldiers in World War II
